Ingredients
1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, melted
1 box yellow cake mix
4 large eggs, divided
1 package (8 oz) cream cheese, softened
4 cups powdered sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Instructions
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Lightly grease a 9×13-inch baking pan or line it with parchment paper.
Prepare the base layer:
In a large mixing bowl, combine the cake mix, melted butter, and 2 eggs. Stir until well mixed.
Press the mixture evenly into the bottom of the prepared baking pan to form the crust.
Make the gooey layer:
In another mixing bowl, beat the softened cream cheese until smooth.
Add the remaining 2 eggs, vanilla extract, and powdered sugar. Beat until fully combined and creamy.
Assemble the bars:
Pour the cream cheese mixture over the crust in the pan, spreading it out evenly.
Bake:
Place the pan in the preheated oven and bake for 35-40 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and slightly crispy. The center should be set but still a little gooey.
Cool and serve:
Allow the bars to cool completely in the pan before cutting into squares. This is the hardest part, but it’s worth the wait!
Enjoy.
