Creamy Ham and Chicken White Sauce Lasagna

Ingredients

4 tablespoons butter
4 tablespoons all-purpose flour
4 cups milk
2 cups cooked ham, diced
2 cups cooked chicken, shredded
9 lasagna noodles, cooked according to package instructions
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon onion powder
1/2 teaspoon salt (or to taste)
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
2 cups fresh spinach (optional)
1 cup ricotta cheese

Instructions

Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).

Prepare the White Sauce:

In a large saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat.
Once melted, whisk in the flour and cook for 1-2 minutes until it forms a smooth paste (roux).
Gradually add the milk, whisking constantly to avoid lumps.
Cook until the sauce thickens, about 5-7 minutes.
Stir in garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper.
Remove from heat and set aside.
Layer the Lasagna:

Spread a thin layer of the white sauce on the bottom of a 9×13-inch baking dish.
Place 3 lasagna noodles over the sauce.
Spread half of the ricotta cheese over the noodles, then layer half of the shredded chicken, ham, and spinach (if using).
Pour 1/3 of the remaining white sauce over the layers, then sprinkle with a handful of mozzarella and Parmesan cheese.
Repeat the layers (noodles, ricotta, chicken, ham, spinach, sauce, cheese).
For the final layer, place the last 3 noodles on top, pour the remaining white sauce over them, and finish with the remaining mozzarella and Parmesan cheese.
Bake:

Cover the lasagna with aluminum foil and bake for 25 minutes.
Remove the foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes, or until the cheese is golden and bubbly.
Enjoy.
