Homestyle Crispy Chicken Seasoning Blend

Ingredients

1 tablespoon black pepper
1 tablespoon paprika
1 tablespoon salt
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon onion powder
1 teaspoon dried thyme
1 teaspoon dried basil
1 teaspoon dried oregano
1/2 teaspoon celery salt
1/2 teaspoon mustard powder
1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional, for extra heat)

Instructions

In a small bowl, mix together all the spices until well combined.
Coat your chicken pieces with a mixture of flour and the seasoning blend. For extra flavor, you can also marinate the chicken in buttermilk before coating.
Heat oil in a deep fryer or a large skillet to 350°F (175°C).
Fry the chicken in batches until golden brown and crispy, about 12-15 minutes, depending on the size of the pieces. Ensure the internal temperature of the chicken reaches 165°F (74°C).
Drain on paper towels and serve hot.
