Ingredients
1 cup heavy cream
4 large potatoes, peeled and thinly sliced
1 cup grated Gruyere cheese
2 cloves garlic, minced
Salt and pepper to taste
Fresh thyme leaves for garnish
Instructions
Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease a baking dish with butter or cooking spray.
Arrange a layer of thinly sliced potatoes evenly on the bottom of the baking dish. Season with salt, pepper, and minced garlic.
Sprinkle a portion of grated Gruyere cheese over the potatoes.
Repeat layering potatoes, seasoning, and cheese until all ingredients are used, finishing with a layer of cheese on top.
Pour heavy cream evenly over the top layer of potatoes and cheese.
Cover the baking dish with foil and bake for 45 minutes.
Remove the foil and bake for an additional 15-20 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and the potatoes are tender when pierced with a fork.
Remove from the oven and let it rest for 10 minutes before serving.
Garnish with fresh thyme leaves before serving.
Enjoy.
