Fresh Garden Salsa Delight

Ingredients

1 medium red onion, finely chopped
6 large ripe tomatoes, finely diced
2-3 jalapeño peppers, finely diced (adjust to taste)
1/2 cup fresh cilantro, chopped
3 garlic cloves, minced
Juice of 2 limes
1 tablespoon olive oil
1 teaspoon cumin
Salt and pepper to taste
Optional: 1 teaspoon sugar (to balance acidity)

Instructions

Prepare the Ingredients: Start by washing all the vegetables thoroughly. Dice the tomatoes, onions, and jalapeños, ensuring they are chopped finely for a balanced texture. Be cautious with the jalapeños, removing the seeds for less heat if desired.

Mix the Base: In a large mixing bowl, combine the diced tomatoes, onions, jalapeños, and minced garlic. Stir gently to distribute the ingredients evenly.

Add Fresh Herbs and Lime: Add the chopped cilantro to the mixture. Squeeze in the lime juice, ensuring all ingredients are coated in the tangy flavor. Lime adds a fresh, citrusy balance to the salsa.

Seasoning: Drizzle the olive oil over the mixture. Sprinkle in the cumin, salt, pepper, and optional sugar (if you prefer a hint of sweetness). Stir the mixture thoroughly, ensuring all the spices are well distributed.

Rest and Serve: For the best flavor, let the salsa sit in the fridge for at least 30 minutes to allow the flavors to meld together. Serve chilled with tortilla chips, over grilled meats, or as a topping for tacos and nachos.

Store: Pour the salsa into a clean glass jar with a lid, like in the photo. Store in the refrigerator and enjoy for up to 5 days.
Enjoy.
