Grandma’s Nutty Date Spread Delight

Ingredients

1/2 cup mixed nuts (such as walnuts, almonds, or pecans, chopped)
1 cup dates (pitted and chopped)
1/4 cup seeds (such as chia, flax, or sunflower seeds)
1/4 cup honey (or maple syrup for a vegan option)
1/2 tsp cinnamon (optional, for extra warmth)
1/4 tsp salt (to enhance the flavors)
1/4 cup water (adjust for desired consistency)

Instructions

Prepare the Dates: In a small saucepan, add the chopped dates and water. Cook on low heat, stirring occasionally, until the dates are soft and form a paste-like consistency. Add more water if needed for a smoother texture.

Combine Ingredients: Once the dates are softened, add in the honey (or maple syrup), chopped nuts, seeds, cinnamon, and salt. Stir well to ensure everything is evenly mixed.

Adjust Consistency: If the spread is too thick, add a little extra water until you reach the desired texture.

Cool and Store: Let the mixture cool, then transfer it to a clean glass jar. Store in the refrigerator for up to two weeks.
