Decadent Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Bars

Ingredients

1/4 cup granulated sugar
1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
1/2 cup brown sugar, packed
1 tsp vanilla extract
2 tbsp milk
1 1/4 cups all-purpose flour, heat-treated for safety
1/4 tsp salt
1 cup chocolate chips (plus extra for topping)
1/4 cup mini chocolate candies (optional, for a pop of color)

Instructions

Prepare the Flour: Heat-treat the flour by spreading it on a baking sheet and baking at 350°F (175°C) for 5–7 minutes. Let it cool completely before using.

Cream the Butter and Sugars: In a large bowl, beat the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until creamy and smooth.

Add Wet Ingredients: Mix in the vanilla extract and milk until fully incorporated.

Combine Dry Ingredients: Slowly add the heat-treated flour and salt to the wet mixture, stirring until you get a thick, smooth dough.

Add Chocolate Chips and Candies: Fold in the chocolate chips and mini chocolate candies if using.

Form the Bars: Line an 8×8-inch pan with parchment paper, allowing some paper to hang over the sides. Press the cookie dough mixture into the pan, spreading it evenly.

Top with Extra Chocolate Chips: Press a few extra chocolate chips into the top for a decorative look.

Chill and Serve: Refrigerate for at least 1–2 hours or until firm. Once set, lift the bars out of the pan using the parchment paper and cut into squares.
Enjoy.
