Ingredients
4 medium apples, peeled, cored, and thinly sliced
3 large eggs
1/2 cup (100g) sugar
1/4 cup (60ml) milk
1/4 cup (60g) melted butter
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/2 cup (70g) all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
A pinch of salt
Powdered sugar, for dusting
Instructions
Prepare the apples:
Preheat your oven to 350°F (180°C).
Grease and line a 9-inch (23cm) springform pan.
Arrange the thin apple slices evenly in the pan.
Make the batter:
In a large bowl, whisk together eggs and sugar until pale and frothy.
Add milk, melted butter, and vanilla extract, mixing until smooth.
Incorporate the dry ingredients:
Sift together flour, baking powder, and salt. Gradually fold the dry mixture into the wet batter until smooth and lump-free.
Assemble the cake:
Pour the batter over the apple slices, ensuring they’re evenly coated.
Bake:
Bake in the preheated oven for 40-45 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
Cool and serve:
Allow the cake to cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a serving plate.
Dust with powdered sugar before serving.
Tips:
Serve warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or a dollop of whipped cream for an extra indulgent experience.
For added flavor, sprinkle cinnamon or nutmeg over the apple slices before adding the batter.
Enjoy.
