Ingredients
2 cups water
1 cinnamon stick
1 tablespoon whole cloves
3-4 cardamom pods (optional)
1 small piece of fresh ginger, sliced (optional)
Honey or brown sugar (to taste)
A slice of lemon or orange (optional)
Instructions
Prepare the Spices: In a small pot, add the whole cloves, cinnamon stick, and any optional spices (cardamom pods and ginger) for added depth.
Simmer the Tea: Pour in the water and bring it to a boil over medium heat. Once it starts boiling, reduce the heat to low and let it simmer for 10-15 minutes to allow the spices to infuse fully.
Strain the Tea: After simmering, remove from heat and strain the tea into a cup, discarding the spices.
Sweeten and Serve: Add honey or brown sugar to taste, and garnish with a slice of lemon or orange for extra flavor if desired. Enjoy warm.
Tips:
This tea is not only warming but also helps soothe sore throats and can aid digestion.
You can adjust the strength by adding more or fewer cloves and other spices to your taste.
Enjoy.
