Woven Delight Pancakes: A Fun Twist on Classic Breakfast

Ingredients

1/4 cup sugar
2 teaspoons baking powder
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 cup all-purpose flour
1/2 cup buttermilk (or 1/2 cup milk mixed with 1 tablespoon lemon juice)
1 large egg
2 tablespoons melted butter
Honey, syrup, or your preferred sweetener
Margarine or cooking oil for frying

Instructions

Mix the Dry Ingredients: In a medium mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.

Prepare the Wet Ingredients: In a separate bowl, whisk the buttermilk (or milk and lemon juice), egg, and melted butter until smooth.

Combine: Gradually add the wet ingredients to the dry mixture, stirring gently until just combined. The batter should be slightly lumpy, so avoid overmixing.

Prepare the Pan: Heat a non-stick skillet or griddle over medium heat and lightly grease it with margarine or oil.

Create the Woven Pancakes: Pour the pancake batter into a squeeze bottle or use a piping bag with a small nozzle. On the heated pan, pipe thin horizontal and vertical lines to form a lattice pattern. Let the batter cook for about 2-3 minutes or until bubbles start forming on the surface and the edges are set.

Flip and Finish: Carefully flip the pancake and cook for an additional 1-2 minutes until both sides are golden brown.
Enjoy.
