Italian Crescent Sandwich Squares for a Crowd

Ingredients

1/2 cup roasted red peppers, thinly sliced
2 cans (8 oz each) refrigerated crescent roll dough
1/2 lb sliced deli ham
1/2 lb sliced Genoa salami
1/2 lb sliced pepperoni
1/2 lb sliced provolone cheese
1/2 lb sliced mozzarella cheese
1/2 cup sliced black olives
1/4 cup banana pepper rings (optional)
2 tablespoons Italian seasoning
1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
2 tablespoons olive oil
1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
1/2 teaspoon onion powder
1/4 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes (optional)

Instructions

Preheat the Oven: Set your oven to 375°F (190°C). Lightly grease a 9×13-inch baking dish or line it with parchment paper.

Prepare the Dough Base: Unroll one can of crescent roll dough and press it evenly into the bottom of the baking dish, pinching the seams together to form a solid layer.

Layer the Meats and Cheeses: Begin by laying half of the ham slices over the dough, followed by half of the salami, pepperoni, provolone, and mozzarella. Spread the roasted red peppers, black olives, and banana pepper rings evenly over the meats and cheeses. Repeat the layers with the remaining meats and cheeses.

Top Layer of Dough: Unroll the second can of crescent roll dough and place it over the top, stretching and pinching the seams together to cover the filling completely.

Season the Top: In a small bowl, mix the olive oil, Dijon mustard, Italian seasoning, garlic powder, onion powder, and crushed red pepper flakes. Brush this mixture over the top of the dough. Sprinkle the grated Parmesan cheese evenly over the top.

Bake to Perfection: Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and crispy.
Enjoy.
