Irresistible Cream Cheese Gooey Bars

Ingredients

For the Crust:

1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, melted
1 box yellow cake mix (dry)
1 large egg
For the Creamy Gooey Layer:

2 large eggs, beaten
8 oz cream cheese, softened
4 cups powdered sugar (16 oz)

Instructions

Preheat the Oven:

Set your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13 inch baking pan. Set it aside.
Prepare the Crust:

In a medium-sized bowl, combine the dry yellow cake mix, melted butter, and 1 egg. Stir until the mixture is smooth and well combined.
Press this dough evenly into the bottom of the prepared baking pan.
Make the Creamy Gooey Layer:

In a separate bowl, beat the softened cream cheese until smooth. Add the beaten eggs and powdered sugar, and continue beating until the mixture is creamy and free of lumps.
Pour this creamy mixture over the crust in the baking pan, spreading it out evenly with a spatula.
Bake:

Place the pan in the preheated oven and bake for 40-45 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and slightly firm to the touch.
