Ingredients
1 package (8 ounces) cream cheese, softened
1 pound (450g) breakfast sausage
1 can (8 ounces) crescent roll dough
1 tablespoon chopped fresh chives or green onions (optional)
Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
Preheat Oven: Set your oven to 375°F (190°C).
Cook Sausage: In a skillet over medium heat, brown and crumble the sausage until fully cooked. Drain any excess fat.
Prepare Filling: In a mixing bowl, blend the cooked sausage with the softened cream cheese until smooth. Add salt, pepper, and optional chives or green onions to taste.
Unroll Dough: Open the can of crescent roll dough and separate it into individual triangles.
Fill and Roll: Place a small spoonful of the sausage and cream cheese mixture at the wide end of each crescent triangle. Roll up the dough from the wide end to the point, pinching the edges to seal.
Bake: Arrange the filled crescent rolls on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until golden brown, following the crescent roll package instructions.
