Fresh and Zesty Homemade Tomato Salsa

Ingredients

1 can (10 oz) Rotel diced tomatoes with green chilies
4 medium tomatoes, roughly chopped
1/2 cup chopped onion
1 jalapeno, seeded and chopped
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 teaspoon sugar
1 teaspoon salt (adjust to taste)
1/2 teaspoon ground cumin
Juice of 1 lime
1/2 cup fresh cilantro leaves

Instructions

In a blender or food processor, combine the chopped tomatoes, Rotel diced tomatoes, onion, jalapeno, garlic, sugar, salt, cumin, lime juice, and cilantro leaves.
Pulse the mixture 10 to 15 times or until it reaches your preferred consistency.
Taste the salsa with a tortilla chip and adjust salt or lime juice if needed.
Transfer the salsa to a bowl, cover, and refrigerate for at least one hour to allow the flavors to meld together.
Serve chilled with tortilla chips or as a topping for cheesy nachos.
