Homemade 3 Musketeers Bars

Ingredients

(Makes about 12 bars)

  • 2 cups (120g) marshmallow fluff or marshmallow creme
  • 1 ½ cups (260g) milk chocolate chips
  • 1 ½ cups (260g) semi-sweet chocolate chips (for coating)
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil or coconut oil (optional, for thinning the coating)

Instructions

Step 1: Prepare the Pan
  1. Line an 8×8-inch square pan with parchment paper or aluminum foil, leaving some overhang for easy removal. Lightly grease the lining with non-stick spray.

Step 2: Make the Nougat Filling
  1. In a microwave-safe bowl, melt the milk chocolate chips in 20-second intervals, stirring after each until fully melted and smooth.
  2. Add the marshmallow fluff to the melted chocolate and stir until completely combined. The mixture will become thick and fluffy.

Step 3: Shape the Filling
  1. Spread the nougat mixture evenly into the prepared pan. Use a spatula to smooth the top.
  2. Place the pan in the freezer for about 30 minutes, or until the nougat is firm enough to handle.

Step 4: Prepare the Chocolate Coating
  1. Melt the semi-sweet chocolate chips in a microwave-safe bowl in 20-second intervals, stirring until smooth. If needed, stir in the vegetable or coconut oil to thin the chocolate for easier coating.

Step 5: Cut and Coat the Bars
  1. Remove the nougat from the pan using the parchment or foil overhang. Cut into rectangular bars (about 3 inches long and 1 inch wide).
  2. Using a fork or dipping tool, dip each bar into the melted chocolate, ensuring it’s fully coated. Let excess chocolate drip off, then place the coated bar onto a parchment-lined baking sheet.

Step 6: Chill and Set
  1. Once all bars are coated, refrigerate them for about 15–20 minutes, or until the chocolate is fully set.

Storage Tips

  • Store the bars in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days, or in the refrigerator for up to a week.
  • For longer storage, freeze the bars in a freezer-safe container for up to 3 months. Let thaw at room temperature before serving.

Pro Tips

  • Double Dip: For a thicker chocolate coating, repeat the dipping process after the first layer has set.
  • Flavored Variations: Add a splash of peppermint extract or a pinch of espresso powder to the nougat for a fun twist.
  • Tidy Bars: Use a sharp knife dipped in warm water to cut clean, even bars from the nougat.

Enjoy.
