1 can (21 oz) lemon pie filling
1 box (15.25 oz) lemon cake mix
1 package (8 oz) cream cheese, softened
1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, melted
Instructions
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13 inch baking dish with butter or non-stick spray.
Prepare the cream cheese layer: In a medium bowl, beat the softened cream cheese until smooth and creamy.
Prepare the cake mix: In another bowl, combine the lemon cake mix with the melted butter. Mix until the mixture is crumbly and well combined.
Layering: Spread the lemon pie filling evenly in the greased baking dish. Next, dollop spoonfuls of the cream cheese mixture over the lemon pie filling.
Top with cake mixture: Sprinkle the prepared lemon cake mix and butter mixture evenly over the cream cheese layer.
Bake: Place the baking dish in the preheated oven and bake for 35-40 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and the edges are bubbling.
Cool and serve: Allow the cake to cool for about 15-20 minutes before serving. Optionally, dust with powdered sugar or serve with whipped cream if desired.
