Ingredients
1/2 cup (100g) granulated sugar, plus extra for coating
1 cup (226g) unsalted butter, softened
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
2 cups (250g) all-purpose flour
1/4 teaspoon salt
Instructions
Prepare the Dough
In a large mixing bowl, cream the softened butter and 1/2 cup sugar together until light and fluffy. Add the vanilla extract and mix until combined.
Combine Dry Ingredients
In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour and salt. Gradually add the flour mixture to the butter mixture, stirring until a soft dough forms.
Shape the Cookies
Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
Roll the dough into small balls (about 1 inch in diameter), then slightly flatten each ball with a fork or the bottom of a glass to create a crisscross or lined pattern.
Sugar Coat
Dip each dough piece into granulated sugar, ensuring they’re well coated before placing them on the prepared baking sheet.
Bake
Bake for 10-12 minutes or until the edges are lightly golden. Let the cookies cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
