Ingredients
2 tablespoons granulated sugar
1 tablespoon baking powder
2 ½ cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon salt
1 ½ cups buttermilk (or regular milk)
1 stick (½ cup) unsalted butter, melted
Instructions
Preheat the oven: to 450°F (230°C).
Prepare the baking dish: Melt the butter in a microwave-safe bowl or over the stove. Pour the melted butter into a 9×13-inch baking dish, making sure it evenly coats the bottom.
Mix the dough: In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt. Slowly add the buttermilk while stirring, mixing just until combined (the dough will be slightly sticky).
Shape the biscuits: Using a spoon or your hands, scoop the dough into even portions and drop them directly into the butter-filled dish. Gently press the biscuits so they are slightly flattened.
Bake: Place the dish in the preheated oven and bake for 20–25 minutes, or until the tops are golden brown and the biscuits are cooked through.
Serve: Once baked, allow the biscuits to cool for a few minutes before serving.
Enjoy.
