Ingredients
4-6 slices of ham
4-6 slices of cheddar or Swiss cheese
1 sheet puff pastry (thawed)
1 egg (beaten, for egg wash)
Your choice of dipping sauce (BBQ, honey mustard, or ranch)
Instructions
Preheat the oven: Set your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
Prepare the puff pastry: On a lightly floured surface, roll out the puff pastry into a rectangle, if needed, to ensure an even thickness.
Layer the ham and cheese: Lay slices of ham evenly across the puff pastry, followed by cheese slices on top of each ham slice.
Roll it up: Carefully roll the puff pastry from one edge to the other, creating a tight spiral roll. Use your hands to maintain even pressure while rolling.
Slice into pinwheels: Once fully rolled, use a sharp knife to slice the roll into 1-inch thick rounds.
Brush with egg wash: Place the pinwheels on the prepared baking sheet, and lightly brush the tops with the beaten egg to give them a golden finish while baking.
Bake: Place the pinwheels in the preheated oven and bake for 15-20 minutes, or until golden brown and crispy.
Serve with sauce: Let the pinwheels cool slightly, then serve them warm with your favorite dipping sauce.
Enjoy.
