Ingredients
1 cup flour
2 large eggs, beaten
4 chicken breasts
4 slices Swiss cheese
4 slices ham
1 cup breadcrumbs
1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon paprika
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
Cooking spray or oil for greasing
Toothpicks (optional)
Fresh parsley for garnish (optional)
Instructions
Preheat Oven: Set your oven to 375°F (190°C) and grease a baking dish.
Prepare Chicken: Place each chicken breast between two sheets of plastic wrap. Gently pound with a meat mallet or rolling pin until each breast is about 1/4 inch thick.
Assemble: Lay a slice of Swiss cheese and a slice of ham on each chicken breast. Roll the chicken breasts tightly around the cheese and ham. Secure the rolls with toothpicks if needed.
Set Up Breading Stations:
In the first shallow dish, place flour.
In the second dish, pour in the beaten eggs.
In the third dish, combine breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, garlic powder, paprika, salt, and pepper.
Bread the Chicken: Coat each chicken roll in flour, then dip it into the beaten eggs, and finally roll it in the breadcrumb mixture, pressing lightly to ensure a good coating. Place the breaded chicken rolls in the prepared baking dish.
Bake: Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until the chicken is cooked through and the breading is golden brown.
Rest and Serve: Allow the chicken to rest for a few minutes before slicing. Garnish with fresh parsley if desired. Serve hot with your choice of side dishes, such as steamed vegetables, mashed potatoes, or a fresh green salad.
Enjoy.
