Savory Meatballs in a Lush Cream Sauce

Ingredients

For the Meatballs:

1/2 cup breadcrumbs
1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
1 lb ground beef (or a blend of beef and pork)
1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley
1 large egg
2 cloves garlic, minced
1/2 tsp dried oregano
1/2 tsp dried basil
Salt and black pepper to taste
For the Cream Sauce:

1/2 cup chicken or beef broth
1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
1 cup heavy cream
1 tbsp olive oil
1 clove garlic, minced
1 tbsp flour (optional, for thickening)
Salt and black pepper to taste

Instructions

Prepare the Meatballs:

Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
In a large mixing bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, parsley, egg, minced garlic, oregano, basil, salt, and pepper. Mix until just combined.
Shape the mixture into 1-inch meatballs and arrange them on a baking sheet.
Cook the Meatballs:

Bake the meatballs in the preheated oven for about 20 minutes or until they are browned and cooked through.
Prepare the Cream Sauce:

While the meatballs bake, heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
Add the minced garlic and cook until fragrant, about 1 minute.
If using, sprinkle flour over the garlic and cook for an additional minute, stirring constantly.
Gradually whisk in the heavy cream and broth. Bring to a simmer, stirring occasionally.
Add the Parmesan cheese and continue to cook until the sauce thickens. Season with salt and black pepper to taste.
Combine and Serve:

Once the meatballs are cooked, transfer them to the skillet with the creamy sauce.
Simmer for 5-10 minutes, allowing the meatballs to absorb the flavors of the sauce.
Serve the meatballs hot over pasta, rice, or with crusty bread.
Enjoy.
